Time Warner Raises Rates Again

Just days after TW and Fox made some sort of secret deal, Time Warner announces it will jack up the price of its cable TV and internet.

Road Runner is great and I don't mind paying for it. As for cable, how many times must we subscribers be subjected to the same movies and dozens of infomercials?

There are some nights that I have to toss in a DVD just to watch something decent on TV, yet my cable bill keeps on going up.

The rate hike was in the mail before twc and fox worked out their deal. It was probably planned months ago.

no one says you have to watch. waddaya want, something for nothing? then disconnect the cable and watch broadcast TV.

The problem is with that theory is that where I live I can not receive any off air digital channels and am not allowed to put up an outside antenna or a satellite dish. So I am stuck with the basic cable package - 60 channels. Most of the channels I do not and will never watch. I coud get the digital tier ,but forget that. I am paying for channels I don't want and that is the socialism in its purest form or better known as corporate welfare.

Don't feel too sorry for cable companies or satellite providers for their programing costs. Those ten minute commercial breaks after five minutes of a movie on AMC -half those spots are local. So the they are making money from your subscription and from selling local spots.

And as far as disconnect the cable and watch broadcast TV. How about the average Joes that wants to watch the local stations and just ESPN. Or your someone that just wants TCM?
