JR93.7 PD Jim Dorman played an April Fools' Day joke on an engineer. Dorman put in a request for a full-blown remote for Saturday---April 1st. The engineer showed up on the scene in plenty of time to set up while Dorman hid behind the truck, snapping photos. As air time approcahed and no jock showed up, the engineer called Dorman and was told that he should go ahead and do the remote himself. Then a listener slid the engineer a note that filled him in on the gag. Maybe he should spend more time making Junior better so Cat Country in Allentown doesn't beat him in his own market and less time doing stupid stunts like this.

I know we can't put actual Arbitron numbers on here, but after seeing the first two phases I think JR 93-7 is just fine, no need to worry about that and time wasted. I like the fact that people are still having fun in radio

I don't care about the ratings or the numbers, if I was the engineer I would have kicked the stuffing out of 'em. It's really funny to put such stupid stress on someone for your own joy and on a Saturday. Remotes are not only advertising for the client, but more importantly for the station. Someone who cares about it, puts a lot of work into it. May the engineer get double overtime for putting up with this scmuck who henceforth, in my mind, will do all of his remotes alone.

I know Jimmy pretty well... been friends with he and his family for a long time. He's put in a lot of years at that building. LOL, he just might be one of the tallest guys in local radio (along with me lol).
