Tino Esquivel---KKYX

Just curious as to why he does overnights on KKYX when the station is automated for most of the day. He may be one of the few overnight DJs still left.

A rare example of a company's loyalty to a loyal employee. Tino is a great person, and has been true to the station. Along with Cousin Jerry King, KKYX would never be the same without them.

Tino was the overnight guy on Y-100 about 15 years ago. I'm thinking he's worked overnights for more than 20 years. Keep in mind also that KKYX is the LP-2 for the San Antonio region. While it may have changed, the Texas EAS plan used to require all LP's be attended. So, that could also have something to do with Tino still being on overnights at KKYX.

I bet when 104.9 signs on, KKYX may add some more staff to run the thing. We can only hope...

I got to work with Tino for 10 years. Not only is he a good man, he always take care of any problems that happened during overnight. Spots missing, jammed copy machines, etc. Solid jock that does his job and has the interest of the entire building at heart.
