Tips for pro-quality AM loop antennas?

I would like to build a good AM loop antenna to put on our roof for off-air monitoring. It's the usual story; big office building, crappy AM reception.

Although I'm aware of the general procedure, I've never built one before, and don't have all the math.

Any tips & tricks from those who've done it before?

Perhaps a web page or blog with good pics & diagrams?

~thanks

I've got a scan of the old Moseley loop instructions I use to use with my AM Belars at the 1KW directional I use to engineer. Drop me a PM with your email and I'll send you a copy in PDF if you think it will help.

I had seen that link some time ago, and I was dizzy after going thru the whole thing. I was happy when I was going through old papers from "the good old days" and found the loop plans I used.
