Titanic on VH-1 But Not In HD

Wasn't when this movie is shown on TNT they show it in HD on TNT-HD? But Titanic wasn't in HD on VH1-HD. Also to add its better seeing movies on TNT then VH-1, the commericals on VH-1 seem to be over 5 mins.

Also regarding sister station MTV, Jeresy Shore is in HD but on MTV-HD it shows black all around. I think MTV forget to zoom in or something. It looks awful with black around whats being aired.

The show must not have been shot 1.33.1. If so, it would not fill up the screen. You often see that with older shows, as they were not shot in an aspect ratio that would fill the picture of a widescreen television.

I saw "Ghost" on WE HD in 1.33:1, I've also seen "Blazing Saddles" and "Son in Law" on CMT HD in 1.33:1. What HD channels show movies in in 1.33:1 or stretchovision? Many channels are too cheap to get full frame copies of the movies and just use the same prints they already have from their movie packages?

MTV Networks wouldn't know how to program an HD channel if their life depended on it (which is why Palladia is run by an entirely different tech team). Unless it's one of VH1 or MTV's "original" series, it's not going to be in HD at all. The music video industry converted way back in 2000 to HD and they're still waiting on MTV, CMT and VH1 to air one in HD (right now they get bogged down with inane tickers and reminders about what video you're watching in SD on all three networks), while MTV's SD video networks pull vertical stretching on some 16:9 videos to make them fit in the 4:3 screen.

I didn't even bother to stop at VH1 when I saw Titanic was on just because of their marathon commercial breaks.

It was awful, my gf had it on so I didn't bother change it. VH-1 is no TNT in my opinion.

The breaks are like that on every other MTV Owned network. Why do you think TVLAND and Comedy Central are now running off the clock?

Yup, my TiVo policy is much different with Viacom networks; where most networks get an extra minute added onto a recording, I always do either five or ten when it comes to anything from them.
