Tivo and DTV

Just wondering about Tivo. I can't find this on their website and they are not understanding me when I email them

Will the current Tivo be compatable and able to record DTV signals? Or is it strictly NTSC signals.

I don't know much about Tivo, just started to look into it.<P ID="signature">______________

TiVo can only 'decode' the NTSC signal. There is currently an HD TiVo available strictly through DirecTV; although a 'basic' HD TiVo is said to be in the works. For more than you could ever want to know about TiVo... www.tivocommunity.com.

(I've had TiVo since March '01 and have never looked back since - I'm up to 3 units)!

My Tivo automatically downconverts all digital channels/HD pictures and leterboxes them. To bypass this and take full advantage of HD, I have my cable box automatically hooked up to Component 2 and the Tivo on Component 1. The Tivo still records and I still get HD. Get it, even if they don't have a true HD box yet. You won't regret it and they often run specials for a 2nd box to current subscribers.
