You do realize there's a lot more that goes in to choices in syndication?
Yes.
The show you mentioned has a whole TWO affiliates not owned by the company that owns the show.
You're making my point about radio station cluelessness. D&C is 100% barter. The only argument against airing it if you're a rocker in the Northeast is if you're having unprecedented success with your incumbent programming.
TJ is on over 70 in less than a year.
His show works in a variety of formats. I wouldn't put D&C on anything that wasn't a rocker, which is declining in number. Hell, if I had Fox Sports as a throwaway on my fifth station, I'd make them the morning show on the otherwise sports talk station. Call WFAN and ask how not having a sports show in the morning worked out for them.
It might be financial. It could be their network sales person is really good at his job. But stations want to carry TJ for whatever the reason may be.
As they should. He's tremendous. He also doesn't belong next to Breaking Benjamin and Disturbed.
Also WABY has no ratings, which means it will bring in nearly nothing in revenue so some syndicators won't even talk to a station about a show in those circumstances.
Then maybe do something to get ratings? Maybe a morning show with an outdoor campaign? What's the point of taking on that electric bill?
Then there's circumstances where group owners only will use content from one network. For example, Connoisseur and Seven Mountains Media only take programming on their music stations from Compass Media Networks.
Does that work for them?
