TKK: Who was sleep at the switch?

So, at 4:32 this afternoon a caller on TKK drops the 's' word. With all the new fines and what not, how could this still happen on an almost major market afternoon drive show. How does the chain of responsibility work at TKK? Who's finger is on the button? ??? Is it the producer? The Board Op? The Host? Do heads roll, or do they duck and cover and hope no one complains to the FCC? I want answers, damn it!

The board op who signs the station log each shift is the one responsible, I would think. But the FCC can't get a pound of flesh from a board op making barely minimum wage, so they go after the station owner.

Not any more. The Licensee is the only one responsible now. The Licensee can determine their own internal polices on how they hold their own employees responsible. GM's logs are computerised like most major stations nowadays.

Any Board Op that is too busy to pay attention to what is going out on the air is a piker and should turn in his/her Clearasil and pocket protector ;D

The never fail to delete references to competing stations (some out-of-market)! Hey, get your priorities straight.

I've done the board op job. You must stay keenly aware of what is going over the air, at all times. At the very LEAST a board op can lose their job if something offensive escapes the bleep button.

Shouldnt Severin himself have a dupm? but again if he's in his barn in Sag Harbor it may not be a full fledged studio set up.

So Graham would have been sitting right in front of the dump on his board and assumed his board op caught the curse.

And what happens when you 'assume'? You make a Graham out of U and Me...

Your bigger scum-bag hosts might try to pass the buck, but a simple 'Dump that' would have been dumped along with the swear and made sure it didn't get on the air.

If you are going to put your name on a show, you should also take ownership of the show. If it happened on his watch, Graham should bare the brunt of any punishmnet that gets handed out. Of course, if no one complains to the FCC nothing further will be done about it. I just hope the Graham haters don't take this op. to rat him out.
