TLM 49 vs. Peluso 2247 (short body not LE) ONLY for voiceovers

Hi

I wonder what would be a general consensus which of that two fine mics with similar price tag would be better exclusively for voiceovers (and recording narrations/spoken word as well). I asked the same question over GearSlutz forum but I think this is maybe a better place to ask that kind of question, since this is "specialised radio/VO" forum (much more than GS which is general more-toward-music-type of forum).

Anyway, I can't judge for myself 'cause most dealers over here never heard of Peluso and don't have any Neumann on stock so I "must" stick with this forum and users opinions and advices.

I want one quality microphone (I already have SM7, RE20, MD421, AT 4050 and 3035) and my budget is 1500$ max and after a lots of researching throught the various forums and user groups, and of course based on mics specs - I finally narrowed my choice to those two. In the present time, I can't afford myself to buy high end mic such as U87 or something similar for voiceovers. For the sake of conversation, for my voice I tried for TLM 103 (harshy) and Brauner Phantom AE (sibilants) several times and didn't like it at all.

I'll plan to use either TLM49 or 2247 in combination with my Metric Halo ULN-2 preamp (very clean and transparent) and vocal recordings will be mostly for radio and TV commercials, corporate presentations and for the education CDs/audiobooks.

Based on their spectrum charts and Jeff's podcast review - TLM 49 seems brighter a little bit and I read lots of post here and in the other forums and people says that Peluso 2247 is kind of dark.

Any opinions and/or advices are higly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Sven
