TNT F Bomb

YES! I recorded and played it to the FCC! ;)

Unfortunately, someone probably did that exact scenario. I'm not a parent, but if I was watching it with a young child, I would say 'you shouldn't say that word' and leave it there.

New scenario; What would you say if you were with a nappy headed um.....

Many people do think that the indecency/obsenity rules apply to basic cable when they don't, and there are misinformed religious nutjobs do bitch and moan about it.

A couple of weeks ago, a federal court ruled that obscene words are OK unless they refer to sex or exceretion.

From what I am hearing, it was just an accident.

TNT should have known what was said before they played it, since it was not live. They were playing Kyle Petty's (who is miked for this race) reaction to an accident he was in.

You mean that *shudder* you'd act like a parent? ;D

If a driver drops the "F" bomb, or something similar, and its picked up on air, the driver and team may be docked points later in the week. Dale Erhnhardt Jr let loose with an "S" one day, and he was fined and had points deducted.

I'm sure Wildmon and Bozell are already writing columns about it... ::)

Do you think it would have played out differently if is was on NBC?
But it did NOT happen on NBC or any other network, so your question is irrelevant.

Now, un-bunch your Fruit Of the Looms and move on. ::)

Just to clarify the "relevance" of the question el facto man. NBC and TNT share the rights to NASCAR second half of the year, which they are in. Same announcers, probably same production crew, see the relevance? Just so happened this week it was on TNT. My point is, it happened regardless of the network and it would have happened on over the air just as easy as it happened on cable.

No, there is no relevance. None whatsoever. Now, you're reaching for straws in an attempt to make a point. Your issue was that the f-bomb dropped on TNT, a basic cable network. It doesn't matter "what if".

Just so happened this week it was on TNT.
A basic cable network -- not bound by FCC.

My point is, it happened regardless of the network and it would have happened on over the air just as easy as it happened on cable.
Please provide proof of such that would have definitely happened, as you are claiming. Are you aware of the master control operations for TNT and NBC? What about any delay each of them use, if any?

I didn't think so.

Clearly you do not work in TV operations. I do.

FCC is not going to touch it.....see MSNBC when on the former Don Imus show, Chris Matthews dropped the f-bomb (it was dumped on the radio via Westwood One) and the FCC didn't touch that one.

Well at least it create some excitement for their coverage considering

that TNT is the most "BORING" of the NASCAR coverage this year ;D!

I'm still stunned that TNT even got races because their coverage has been

AWFUL! (Adding Larry Mac to it makes it even 10 times worse)

Bill Webber sounds awful, Dallenbach is bland, and I was stund that a

Petty has that much in him to cuss.

Petty was involved in an accident while miked up. When his car got hit , he exclaimed "What the (F-bomb)!" However, TNT did not air his remarks live. They re-played his reaction to getting hit a few minutes after the wreck. They should have known (and maybe they did) what he said and elected not to play the audio.

TNT is clearly at fault here, not Petty

Nope. NBC no longer has any part of the NASCAR package. The season's now split in thirds; FOX has the first third, TNT the second, ESPN/ABC the last (including the chase races).
