First course of action - Call your local cable/satellite company. The problem is most likely on their end. You would hear more about it online if it were a national problem.
They would not be losing advertisers...because 99.8% of the country is still seeing the ads while the viewers in your area are getting the frozen image.
That is my system too. Other channels have been acting up lately (like CNBC, MSNBC, Bloomberg). I don't bother calling...because customer service is a POS.
I've been staying with my mom on and off for the past week while my dad's in the hospital. She has COX Cable of Meriden, CT and ever since 3:30AM Thursday Channel 140 FUEL-TV and 171 I-LIFE TV have said Temporarily off the Air on the screen. She won't call because she doesn't watch either of those two channels.
TBS on Dish Network experienced similar problems for a few minutes at a time yesterday morning during a rerun of "Married with Children", followed by an extended period after 6:30AM CT yesterday.
