Hey all, as a huge fan of the Leftover Lunch block on WFNX, I have decided to dedicate my college radio show to a similar type of show but with more variety from artists that are typically played on Leftover Lunch. My show can be heard on through the internet on the DeSales University website. Link: http://www.desales.edu/default.aspx?pageid=4344

My show airs live from 10-11 on MWF with repeats Tues and Thurs at 1PM

There's a good amount of obscure songs along with well-known songs from the late-70s, 80s, and 90s.

Sample Playlist from 2-9-11

Duran Duran- Save A Prayer
Ric Ocasek- A Quick One
Chumbawumba- Outsider
Nirvana- Very Ape
JoBoxers- Just Got Lucky
Joe Jackson- Do The Instant Mash
Stranglers- Get A Grip On Yourself
Chris Stamey- Fireworks
De La Soul- Take It Off
The Pixies- La La Love You
Cheap Trick- Everything Works If You Let It
The Ramones- R.A.M.O.N.E.S.
Sex Pistols- New York
House Of Pain- X-Files
Rage Against The Machine- Year Of The Boomerang
Go-Betweens- Cattle and Cane
Peter Gabriel- Zaar
Stone Roses- I Am The Resurrection

I think you guys will get the picture after you this playlist, I will play any kind of obscure alternative I can find. I would love to take requests as well. I'm still a teen and I feel kids in my generation don't appreciate some of the great alternative bands from the past so I want to showcase them here. Please check it out!

or Google: DeSales radio and link should pop up

Hey, since you asked for requests/suggestions, here's mine, I have a similar type of classic alternative show, except it's just 90's. Honestly you should focus on some of the core artists from alternative music history: Late 70's (punk/new wave) Talking Heads, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Clash, Television, Elvis Costello, The B-52's, Joe Jackson etc. 80's synth/rock: Depeche Mode, Cocteau Twins, Alphaville, Camouflage, Yaz, R.E.M. (early), U2 (early), Erasure, Ministry, etc. All these artists were played on WFNX and WBCN during this time and fit your "Leftover Lunch" type of theme. Establish your core artists and then branch out from there..

Hey WBIMDJ,

I will play a song by each of the artists you mentioned on tomorrows show. I am not familiar with the bands Television, Camouflage, Yaz, and Erasure. I don't have any songs by them so I'm sorry. I would like to look into them though. I will record my show live at 10AM and play it again at 11,12,and 1 as well. Here's the link to hear the station: http://www.desales.edu/default.aspx?pageid=4344

If you tune in, please give me any kind of feedback and if anyone else would like to request music please let me know and I'll let you know if I have it.
