To restart negotiations, union targets stations

This is indeed a tough situation for the NABET members.
Two things come to mind. One is that I've seen stations
adopt solid state and digital technology...consider it to
be plug and play...get rid of engineers...and be up the
creek when something goes horribly wrong. On the other
hand...instead of forcing NPR and others to spend money
employing them to do things that don't need to be done
anymore...I think the union would be doing better by its
folks to instead make sure they get training to be valuable
assets in this changing world.
