Toby Eddings dies at 52

Bob Bestler of The Sun News wrote about him. I don't have the link handy.

Mr. Bestler was a fan of Mr. Edddings' work, but somehow didn't realize that Mr. Eddings wrote the TV/Radio column for The Sun News during the 90s. I'm not surprised since those columns no longer exist. Mr. Eddings didn't care about saving his work, but neither did The Sun News. They decided the columns would go in the Sunday TV Book, which wasn't microfilmed. Then they didn't bother to save the columns.

Did anyone? Mr. Eddings' work is a treasure trove of Myrtle Beach radio history, even if most of it is from the 1990s.

Sad news. Toby wrote a nice "whatever happened to" piece about my old station WYAV, and when I tried to find it online a few years later, I couldn't. The previous post explains why. Journalism needs more people like Toby.

I loved reading Toby's columns. When he left the Sun News, I was very disappointed. He was one of the good ones. He will be sorely missed.
