Chuck Henry announced this at the end of the Channel 4 News tonight. Starts on Tuesday, May 26.

This one-ups KTLA's recent new start time of 4:30 AM. KABC was the first to start at 4:30 AM, for the record.

It appears that NBC's Early Today will still run at 4:30 AM. What they are doing is replacing the 11 PM repeat of the Channel 4 News with a live version of Today in L.A. for 1/2 hour at 4 AM.

It never fails to amaze me how Kathy Vara, a Lupus sufferer, copes with the very early start - don't forget, it burned Kelly Mack out after four years. And how Kent Shocknek has managed about 25 years of it is just incredible.

The original morning anchor at KING 5 in Seattle, Don Madsen, came into work at 11pm and worked all night to prepare the morning newscast. Needless to say, he didn't anchor the noon newscast. :D

Anyone remember the name of the black gal news anchor who hosted the Early Today Show on NBC? It started at 4:00 am and she did another show on CNBC like around 1 or 2 am.
She was cool.
