Todays best music B106

WOMG has a new positioner: Carolina's Classic Hits

a new liner guy (sounds like Harry Legg, but dont hold me to that)

a new mid-day track. (which I'm personally ok with. No offense to the former)

and the music seems to be more 'classic' - less 'oldies' (if that makes sense)
Seems like a lot of the 60's stuff is out, maybe a few more 80's songs.

It sounds pretty solid so far.
 
Im guessing that WOMG is trying to capture the older end of WTCB's old AC demo.
But will the new hot (or bright) WTCB pull enough from WNOK or Steve to make up the difference?
Especially in revenue
 
I've been observing the last few days. I really love the new sound. They do go back as far as 1989 with their regular playlist outside of their Totally 80's noon show. During normal playlist hours, I've heard Roxette (Listen To Your Heart, It Must of been Love) and Richard Marx (Satisfy). Lots of Justin Timberlake, Mumford and Sons, Phillip Phillips, Maroon 5, Pink, Fun, Rihanna, 90's Pop Alternative, and some R&B crossover (Chris Brown-With You).

I wonder how much this will change the landscape. B106 is a threat to WNOK, WWNU, WLTY, and even WARQ now. I'd love to see a Rhythmic CHR come in and get things even more interesting!
 
I hate to admit it, but I kinda like the new B106. It's growing on me. Wish they played a little more 90s, but like the ones they are playing.

Ditto whooper, I'm loving it. By the way, I don't remember them playing "Satisfied" by Richard Marx under the AC format. I had totally forgotten about that song and it reached number 1! It's good they throw an "Oh Wow" song in the mix.
