"Today's K104.7"

Is this their new moniker, or have they been using it for awhile?

I also noticed that their afternoon host, Ken Conrad, doesn't have his picture posted on their website, but all of the other hosts do.

If this is true then it is pretty sad if it is the best K 104.7 can come up with. Today's K???? It sounds just as lame as Today's Light 102.9. How far have we fallen with new ideas?? Two middle school kids could do just as well but their are those child labor laws I suppose.

Definitely no change in format.. Today's K is yesterday's Kool without any changes.. Should have stuck with the christmas music all year long.. Would have sounded better..

Do they still air the jingles?

I checked their website and they have Brandon Chase listed as afternoons 2-6. I don't see Ken Conrad mentioned.

"I checked their website and they have Brandon Chase listed as afternoons 2-6.  I don't see Ken Conrad mentioned".

And the door continues to swing.  Seems like someone from CBS corporate would be interested in just what's going on there with the ongoing turnover of on-air personnel.  This has been going on far too long.  Clearly, there's something wrong there at the management level.

Nah.... ;D

With the exception of a few morning drive shows does the average listener even care who's on the air anymore? I'm NOT blaming the talent. They are told to read the liners, do the weather, do the PSA/promo and shut up.

Ah for the days when the people on the air actually had the power to do something!

Actually Ken is still with K 104.7, heard him this past weekend. I think he only filled in for Brandon Chase in afternoons while Brandon filled in for morning drive.

I miss him on WAVO, but then they rarely have local commercials and they're lucky to have all those national spots. I hope those pay the bills.

I definitely agree.. I did send him an email asking why the end of 60s and 70s. He stated there is a HD-radio sub-station of 104.7. Told him that HD Radio stations are not a choice for most.. This town needs more variety..

I know changes will never happen. At least this site is a good venting board..

Agreed. 102.9, 104.7, and 107.9 all sound the same (Hot AC). Its just a matter of time before one of them flips. Few markets can handle three stations all going for the same format. Light 102.9 should have stayed "Light" in my opinion. Lady Gaga and Katy Perry definitely don't belong on there.

Well, 107.9 is still a bit more talk oriented, but not necessarily as much as before. But one of these 3 stations should definitely flip to something altogether different. And perhaps another full time FM talk. Would like to hear Neal Boortz and Clark Howard. They get very limited time on WBT, but are prominent in Atlanta and Orlando.

107.9 is more Hot AC, Lite is more AC. K seems to have an identity crisis. One book they're sounding like 107.9, one book they're sounding like 102.9, one book they're sounding older than 102.9. If any of the 3 went away, I wouldn't cry if K-104.7 flipped.

Lite 102.9 is just programmed like any other AC station is - Lady Gaga and Katy Perry do very well on AC stations now. They're doing what works with mainstream AC. They aren't Hot AC, and K-104.7 definitely isn't.

I would split programming on 99.3 and 1110. Local talk and rush on 1110. On 99.3, boortz, rush, Clark Howard and a little know Andy Dean from Premiere.

As for WKQC, they are the best choice for a true AC. I like it when they play the older music. Not so much with the HOT stuff. I hate the Katy perry CRAP. Hate It!

99.3 and 1110 would have to share programming from 6:00 PM onward, but yes I could see them splitting the programming during the daytime.
