From Inside Radio:

"'The Father Of Callout Research' Todd Wallace Passes Away.
Todd Wallace, known in the radio industry as “The Father of Callout Research,” has passed away. Since 1975 Wallace ran Radio Index and Todd Wallace Associates, which consulted more than 100 radio stations in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand. He also served as Publisher/Editor of Programmer’s Digest. Wallace was inducted into the Arizona Broadcasters Association’s Hall of Fame in 2014." (Inside Radio)

I knew Todd, and he helped me build the R&R section of my website. A true radio pioneer in the Top 40 era. And his work at KRIZ along with Gary Stevens was inspiring.

Sad news. R.I.P. Todd.

I once worked for one of Todd's protégés who quoted Mr. Wallace so often that I felt like I actually knew the man.

(Wasn't there some loose talk around these parts that Todd is/was the human behind Dr. Akbar [and Nurse Jeff]? Guess we'll all know if that chatter is blasphemy soon enough!)

I truly appreciate the changes Todd Wallace made to KRUX 1360 back in circa 1970.
The continuing battle with KRIZ 1230 benefitted us baby boomers. Rock & Roll...
Rest in peace, Mr. Wallace.

My heart goes out to the many great friends, colleagues, and family of Todd Wallace. He was so kind and thoughtful to me as our friendship started out of our mutual passion for radio. I am proud to have worked for him at Radio Index callout research for many years, and with him on the KRIZ Reunion advisory board tackling promotions. Even though I did not have a career in radio, Todd always made me feel included, and kept me in the loop, He was always quick to recognize and congratulate the successes of others, which is one of many great things that stood out to me. I was blessed with his friendship, and everything that directly and indirectly impacted my life from it. I will really miss him.
