Toledo Radio

Article in the Toledo Blade Newspaper

Article published July 27, 2007
WKKO is still on top

When you have a favorite song, you never get tired of listening to it. The same is apparently true for radio stations.

In the Toledo area, the most-listened-to station is WKKO-FM, 99.9. The Cumulus-owned country music station has been at the top of the ratings heap for 46 consecutive Arbitron surveys - that's 11 1/2 years at No. 1 - including the most recent one.

The results of the Spring 2007 Arbitron survey, conducted from April 5 through June 27, were delivered to local stations this week, and brought few surprises.

Everything in The Blade is insane. What a fishwrapper, and run by truly evil people. Toledo deserves a lot better.

So does that invalidate this info? The Blade is terrible but that beef doesn't belong here.

Anywhere the Blade is quoted is a place for that beef to be stated. I have seen blatant lies and total BS printed on tehir pages, especially as regards radio in Toledo. They are totally biased.

Re: Toledo Radio/WRQN blast from the past

Ah, the Toledo Blade...somethings never change. Speaking of which, it has been quite a while since I have been in the Toledo, market. So, it was great to see Buddy Carr still in the lineup at WRQN. I met Buddy briefly at WWWM circa 1983, doing produciton and part time on air right after I left the startup at WRQN. How long ago was that?? Anybody remember "Toledo's New Rock"? Excellent board by-the-way, I will have to drop by more often. -Jay Stevens (formerly afternoons WRQN).
p.s. How is your traffic reporting service in town?
