Tom Carnegie dies at age 91

A piece of my childhood gone. I'll remember him as much as the Unsers, Foyt and Sneva. What an icon. RIP, Tom.
"It's a NEEEEEW Track Record" will forever be a phrase that I work into conversations.
I went to my first race weekend for the Brickyard 400 in 2003. Tom uttered his famous phrase I think four times during qualifications. I think that was the first time the pole sitter kissed the bricks in NASCAR. I hope the Hulman-George family has a 2 mile oval in the great beyond so Mr. Carnegie can continue his work.
