Tom Fitzmorris

The guy who does that daily three-hour infomercial on WSMB.
 
He's the only one who Entercon kept after flipping WSMB to "progressive talk" from air america.He airs on WSMB weekdays and on WWL on Saturdays.He has his lovers and haters.. Don't listen to him so I don't have an opinion either wayRFLA
 
ok. i never listen to 1350 wsmb..that may explain why i dont know who it is..most radio people i have at least heard of..not this guy..
 
I worked with Tom every day reporting traffic and acting as somewhat of a sidekick for over a year. I like him. Yes, he's an acquired taste and has his quirks but don't we all?I respect the guy.
 
He's not a bad guy...nowhere near bad enough to have such a nasty blog aimed at him. He just has his niche so why flame the guy so badly?? There are others in his neck of the woods who deserve to be crucified *much* more.

DrNola, you've made three posts on this board, and all to rip Tom. Maybe you have a hidden agenda, or something to do with the blog?I'd guess there isn't a talk show host in this city (or the country) that has a 100% approval rating.
 
Tom's ok... a strange bird to be sure, but the strange make life interesting. He knows his food and has strong opinions not designed to be agreed with by everyone. After perusing it, that blog is a sad example of what happens when unhappy childhoods collide with too much spare time.Mean, mean, mean.
 
Yes, Don, I have spent time with him. He's a prick. Why don't you tell everyone about his bullheaded insistence on calling you "Don Wilbanks" instead of your "on air" name, "Don Banks"......

That's because this thread is about Tom. I would be more than happy to post in other threads as well. Hmmm, let's see, should I post in one of the threads where everybody attacks Bob DelGiorno, or in a thread where everybody rags on Andy Holt, or a thread where everyone bitches about Bob Mitchell? It's so hard to decide!

If I thought it was a big deal then I would have objected. Obviously it wasn''t then and isn't now. I don't care.You could also bring up the time that he basically told me I was stupid for eating a certain kind of scallop. At that time it greatly pissed me off and I potted my mic down and left him hanging after my report. He apologized on air the next break and it was over. He's a friend now whom I'm proud to know.

It's all part of the "schtick". I got over it. You should get over it.
 
Don Banks is one of the finest people I ever worked with, and even though I don't know Tom Fitzmorris that well, he doesn't deserve such a hateful blog. Don knows him better than I do and I respect Don's opinions to the highest. There are worse +monsters+ right under Tom's roof.
