Tom Hicks, former Chancellor Media owner as well as former owner of Dallas Stars & Texas Rangers and former Liverpool FC co-owner has died at 79

Tom Hicks has died, he was part of the Hicks family, and was owner of Chancellor Media (which merged into Capstar, owned by his bother Steve during the late 1990s to form AMFM Radio stations a company that itself merged into what is now IHeartMedia FKA Clear Channel Communication in the early 2000s) as well as the man who bough the former Minnesota North Stars of the NHL 2 years after their 1993 move to Dallas and rebrand to the Dallas Stars in 1995, it was when he owned the Stars they won the Stanley Cup in 1999 after acquiring hockey great Brett Hull, also in 1998, he acquired the Texas Rangers of the MLB from then sitting Texas state governor and future US President George W. Bush. During his time as Rangers owner, he brough future New York Yankees great Alex "A-Rod" Rodriguez to North Texas in 2001, but after the 2003 season he traded A-Rod to the Bronx and the rest was history for A-Rod, but the Rangers still paid for him while he was a Yankee. he also became co-owner of Liverpool FC in the English Premier League, co-owning with former NASCAR team co-owner & former Montreal Canadiens owner George Gillett in 2007, but by 2012, he left all ownerships of sports teams after put all of them in debt and the Rangers and Stars filed for Bankruptcy.
