Tom Joyner no longer on WKND 1230 AM

WKND AM 1230 has dropped the Tom Joyner Morning Show in favor of a local morning host. I first noticed it about three weeks ago and he's still on today. The local host is the DJ who had been on Middays, who is now on 6AM-12PM. I can't get a good enough signal to hear if the guy's name is Darnell or Cornell. I'm really surprised that WKND dropped Tom Joyner as he had been a staple on WKND for years dating back to its 1480 days. He also gives the stations email address as [email protected]
______________

How odd...apparently Darnell, or Cornell, from WKND has an email answering service (I wonder if his boss knows about this?).
[END SARCASM]

Please see this post on the Cleveland board:

http://www.radio-info.com/mods/board?Post=454159&Board=cleveland

This "dj", who supposedly works in Market 156 (Fredricksberg Virginia), has Darnell taking email messages for him. [falling into deep thought] hmmmm. I wonder if there is money in that. [coming back to reality] AHEM...And, for those of you who are young, budding detectives...we do know that "Radio Jock" is NOT Darnell from WKND...and we can deduce that they know each other. Maybe Darnell used to work in Virginia, and that's how they know each other!

hmmmm...unfortunately, that is ALL I can say.

to be, or not to be, continued...this message will self destruct in...5...4...3..2..1..

A call to the radio station revels that:

1. The morning guy is Purnell Brown
2. The station email is different than what you posted.

So, either you heard the email wrong, or you are in cohoots with our friend from "Market 156"....

And our friend in "Market 156" might get a cease and desist for claiming an association he clearly does not have.
______________

Sorry Mr. Perfect

Charlie,

Sorry Mr. Perfect. Unlike you I never claimed that "I'm never wrong". I already mentioned I can't pick up that station very well, so that probaly explains why I didn't get the name of the DJ correct. It all sounds the same to me. 1220 and 1240 are both semi-local stations in Southington, so 1230 with their tower in Manchester will never come in cyrstal clear unless an act of god brings down WQUN and WWCO.

Re: Sorry Mr. Perfect

RELAX.

It was not a flame at you for not getting his name right. I can barely get the signal too. So I called and asked a few questions, and found out the email address you posted is not the email address they gave me. My question to you is: Why did you post the email address in the first place? It looks quite suspicious to me, considering what I have found out. Since the email the station gave me does not match the one YOU posted, but the one YOU posted matches the email given in a post by RadoJockUSA2005 on the Cleveland board, I cannot help but wonder if you were asked to help "throw the moderators off".

Anyway. My reply to you has nothing to do with [insert sarcasm] "my perfection" [end sarcasm]. I was explaining HOW I got his name, AND tieing in the fact that a different poster (RadioJockUSA2005) maybe using WKND's email address as a "cloak" to recieve email (by having a WKND employee forward it to him). I doubt WKND management would be happy with their employee for doing that, because it makes them liable for email forwarded that may be questionable. It looks like WKND may have an "imposter" posing as an employee (not likely), or someone illegally representing themselves (moreso the case). If the latter then you might be considered an accomplice. Fun huh?

[insert sarcasm] Why would they (RadioJockUSA2005) be in market 156, (according to their profile...yeah, right...hahahaha) BUT have a WKND email address (a CT radio station, although it is a FREE Yahoo! addy), though NEVER have worked there? But IMPLY that they have a legitimate claim to a relationship with the station, when they clearly don't? [end sarcasm].

Anyway, this should be a lesson to people to not pretend to be someone they are not, or use a company's identity that do not have claim to, because once found out, you can get into serious trouble, and maybe get sued on People's Court...
