Tom Leykis Has Some Choice Words for John and Ken

It's called not wanting to be fired. Normally J&K would be TFPs but there are circumstances.

1) They make tons of $ being on KFI afternoon drive time

2) It's a recession, getting fired is like getting the plague these days

Also, who thinks Tom wouldn't have done the same to stay employed at KFI. You can be all brave till it's your neck on the line.

Employment 101 :p :D ;)

I NEVER liked Tom. I thought he was so arrogant, even more so than J&K. I can tolerate John and Ken, but not Leykis. Anyway, what did J&K say that was incorrect. IMO, she was everything they called her, it's time for people to start telling the truth and stop glazing things over.

Tom doesn't say things, he does things like smash his wifes head into the iron logholders of a fireplace and was arrested after leaving a WRKO
Christmas party during his time in Boston.

It doesn't even matter what Leykis says, because he no longer has audience to speak of.

What is the sound of one hand clapping?

Hate him all you want, but he's right. Tom would not back down. He would take a suspension, but would not apologize. Of course he probably wouldn't have characterized Whitney Houston that way to begin with, but he's right. Yeah, she did crack, but I don't recall hearing anything about being a "ho'-whore, so they were only half right. They backed down and apologized to save their gig, not that they would have actually been fired. I think its sad that Tom is not on the air but he's been laughing all the way to the bank getting paid for NOT working and I think he'll turn up somewhere, but it may be a while considering the current radio landscape. A lot of good people are out of work and he's just one of them...

Somehow the comments of J&K or Leykis do not surprise me. It is the reaction of KFI management that seems to be the story here.

It seems as of late they have become very scared and bordering on political correctness. I don't know if this insecurity comes from the economy, competition or merely becoming fully corporatized. When a one man activist group complained to KFI about J&K's stand on illegal immigration they yanked them off the air. Now they make a controversial statement about Whitney Houston and are immediately pulled. Isn't that what they are paid for, to speak their minds and be controversial? But I guess in these days of knee jerk reaction by advertiser pullouts, stations cannot afford to be the champions of free speech any longer. We might be ushering in a new ear of Political correctness in talk radio. KABC is already knee deep in this by firing Conway after one grandma complained and long gone are FHF who pushed the envelope to their senior listeners.

How long before Conway's Jessie Jackson bit is pulled off the air. All it will take is one guy to call up an advertiser before KFI will shut that down. I might want to test this theory out.
