What a nice thought for Briggs to hire World Famous Tom Murphy to do afternoons at KOOL FM. I do remember him saying he was not going to hire any of the old COOL 96.9 jocks. What a change! Briggs thanks for listening. Tom will make the afternoon drive time shift go smoother now.

Also on the lines about KOOL going jock, is Briggs going to be doing the midday shift? Who is going to do nights? Maybe the ratings will go up now.

What will Clear Channel do now with Tom's Contract or was that tempoary? Renda just cashed in a prized jock.

I guess a lot of us will be listening on Monday, right?

Part-timers don't generally sign contracts, mburg. Tom was there as a weekend part-timer. I believe (if I was told correctly) Tom hits the KOOL airwaves Monday afternoon. :)

A step in the right direction! I couldn't be happier for one of the nice guys of radio. Best wishes - Tom Murphy! I look forward in hearing Tom again.

That he is. I also liked how the weather stager + bed was ditched early in the shift. Just let the master talk up the post.

As we all predicted, the presence of a jock has dramatically improved the "Kool 100.7 experience." Now on to middays...? Nah, let's enjoy Tom for a while.
 
Lets enjoy what we have with KOOL now. The playlist is improving and with The Arf in the mornings and Tom in the afternoon the station seems to be taking shape. This is a good thing. Ratings will be its highest at the end of the year for 100.7
