Tom Perryman up for TAB Hall Of Fame

This is WAAAAYYYYYY Over due!! Tom should have been in the first set of nominees! Tom has done more for radio in East Texas than anyone else!!! It is obvious though with only one nominee from East Texas that there is a bias and discrimination against East Texas!

Congratulations for Tom and hopefully he will get this !!

TAB Wake up there are some amazing broadcasters in East Texas that you have forgotten...Here is just a short list just for reference

Dudley Waller-Saved KEBE and started KOOI and created Waller Broadcasting

Sans Hawkins-Founder of East Texas first Christian Stations KVNE and KGLY, on air at KZAK and KLTV, also started CNN 1060, built the facilities for KKUS,KLJT, KCUL-FM, and many more across east Texas

Rick Reynolds-Built KZEY and KROZ into Tyler power houses, started KKUS, and created the Blaze

Jerry Hanszen-Saved multiple stations from complete destruction, KGAS AM/FM, KMHT AM/FM, KWRD, KPXI

Gary Mason-Long time On air and production talent for KYKX as well as KFRO AM/FM, KMPA, KLJT

Jim Gibbs, who founded KIVY AM 1290 and FM 92.7 along with KIVY-TV 16 in Crockett, TX needs to be considered too, but for slightly different reasons:

He moonlighted as a cameraman for WFAA in Dallas and actually won an Emmy award for his coverage of the 1957 Dallas tornado which caused so much destruction. And he basically modernized the cable system down there in Crockett too because back in the 80's when the local public access channel consisted of a camera panning across weather instruments, he offered to put Ch. 16 on that channel instead and even went as far as to purchase his own weather radar to place on 16. That radar was primitive (not a Doppler) but it was a HUGE expense back then, many thousands of dollars.

Sorry he wont be nominated because he was only in East Texas and in Dallas for a short time the TAB hates and discriminates against East Texas!! They would rather give it to second rate djs in Houston that no one listened to !

Does anyone actually know why the TAB discriminates against the ETEX people?? are the people that vote only in Dallas and Houston??

The TAB Hall Of Fame? When did the TAB start having a hall of fame? Are you discussing the "Texas Radio Hall of Fame?" The TAB is not connected with it.

I was just reading the "Hall of Shame's" website, and they had nominated Tom Perryman for the Hall of Fame, but instead they inducted another slew of Houston and Dallas and even a few San Antonio people. Once again East Texas was discriminated against. The group that nominates these people need to be kicked to the curb as quickly as possible!

Once again Tom Perryman will not be in the Texas Radio Hall of Fame!! Do they think that this amazing talent will live for ever?? hes 85 for God Sake!
