Tom Rinaldi to move from ESPN to Fox Sports

Fox Sports has signed away another ESPN stalwart, The Post has learned.


Tom Rinaldi, one of ESPN’s top on-air reporters, is leaving for Fox, where he is expected to be featured across all of its major events from the Super Bowl to the World Series to the World Cup and college football, according to sources.


At ESPN, Rinaldi was probably best known for the poignant features he would do for “College GameDay” and on the sidelines for the national championship. He has worked on most of the major sports for the network with a deep association with golf.

That was a huge get by Fox Sports signing Tom Rinaldi. Which Tom wanted to leave ESPN which they could've signed him.

There's also the possibility that Rinaldi's political/social views don't jibe with Disney's and he could be bucking for a more lucrative gig with Fox's news/opinion division. No idea if that's the case, just a possibility.

I'm sure it has more to do with ESPN cutting costs and not wanting to pay Tom.

Most likely, but CNN has lost people like Sharyl Atkisson and, more recently, Lou Dobbs, to Fox and both turned out to be conservative ideologues.
