Tom Schnabel's Rhythm Planet Goes Online

Tom Schnabel joined KCRW in 1979 as a producer and music director. For twelve years he hosted "Morning Becomes Eclectic." Since 1993 he hosted a two-hour Sunday program of jazz, Latin and world music, but his final live broadcast was April 14, 2013. He announced that he's moving the program to the Rhythm Planet blog that he has maintained since 2011. In addition to music, the new program will also include interviews and live concerts and there will be a Rhythm Planet CD Club so listeners can purchase the music they hear. Schnabel serves as music advisor for the Hollywood Bowl and the Walt Disney Concert Hall and is the author of "Rhythm Planet: The Great World Music Makers."
