Tom Sheldon.... Southern Illinois Production Guru, dies at home!

Re: Tom Sheldon

I attended the memorial service for Tom last Friday night and it was obvious that he was highly thought of around Mt. Vernon and very respected by the radio community. He is survived by a beautiful daughter, and the speaker--a former colleague--did a great job of telling some stories that brought smiles all around. Even though I hadn't seen Tom since he left Paducah years ago, I could relate to the stories.

From what I gathered, Tom had been having some double-vision the past month or so and apparently passed away of something related. That's about all I know.

Skip said Toad. Ha! Skip, Tom and I all worked for Ruth and Toad back on the hill in Cape.
I go back to WIDB where Tom could wield a razor blade and splicing tape like nobody's business.
He introduced me to Mob Wars on Facebook just a couple of months ago. What a guy.

Great memory, JP! God, I'll have another FOSTER's in the '10w40' can, while my friend Tom has a burbon and a whif.... Smiles on all of our faces! Sittin' on the sidewalk, in front of Wazo's Dairy Queen on south Illinois Avenue in Car-bon-da'-lay......Watchin' the babes walk by! Naughty boys, we were!
