TOM SULLIVAN PASSES AWAY

I was sadden by the news that Tom Sullivan passed away this past Friday, thanks Tom for some great memories, and for training me on how to run the RCA BC-7A console board at WBTC 1540 AM at 3 AM in the morning, and for letting me watch you spin the 45's during that same time at WLYT 92.3 FM, and for having me stop up at M105 and watch you doing your show. I appreciated all the radio talks we had and for keeping me up to date about your fight with cancer. As you signed off your last day at 92 WLYT-you said "The skate board is heading down Cedar Hill Road for the last time"... "Kevin Holiday" and "Tom Sullivan" will be greatly missed-Peace be with your family- Jim D.

In Canton, it was "police in North Canton, get those radar guns out, Tom's headed up Cleveland Avenue!!"

I met Tom only a time or two, in passing, when he was on overnights at Q92 and I would stagger in on Fridays as "Dr. Damien Love". He had a passion for radio, he enjoyed seeing it done right; and definitely had an opinion when it wasn't. He fought the good fight, my thoughts and prayers are with his family in their time of great loss.

Truly a sad thing. Although I never met Tom, I listened from time to time.
Like all good DJ's listening to him was like sitting there listening to a friend
who's company you really enjoyed.
Since in my humble opinion Tom is in heaven swapping stories, my thoughts
and prayers go out to those who really need them. His friends and family.

I too am saddened to hear of Tom's loss. After working together at WHBC, we stayed in touch over the years. He will be missed...but mostly remembered as a fair and honest person. One who was passionate about radio...A good friend, an excellent broadcaster and from what I understand, a tremendous father. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. If anyone has info regarding his services and arrangements, please forward that to me: [email protected]

Tom fought a valiant fight. His courage in his fight will always be inspiring to me. I didn't get the chance to spend as much time with Tom as I would have liked to but we did have some quality time over the last few years. Tom was extremely thoughtful, kind, generous, and giving. Kudos to Tom's ex-wife Debbie for taking him in and alllowing his friends to visit at her home. My family will miss Tom greatly. I have lost a brother. I know that the loss I feel is nothing compared to his daughters and other family members. Rest in Peace Tommy Boy!

Tom was one of radio's "GREATS". Very independent, strong willed and just wanted to have a good time, and thats what radio is missing the most today. Thank you Tom for teaching every single one of us something special about this business.

My thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Tom, but certainly remember hearing over the years and consider him a true Pro in so many aspects. I also followed his fight as much as I could and, to echo the sentiments of another poster, it certainly seemed like he was very courageous and put up the fight & made sure he was going to enjoy every last damn minute. It even appears he was last on here just a few weeks ago.

RIP Tom!

I saw Tom at the WKDD reunion this summer. While he and I worked at some of the same places (including WKDD and WLYT/WRQC), albeit at different times, he was happy to share a story and a kind word. A class act.

While I cannot pay my respects to the family in person tomorrow evening, my thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Rest well, faithful servant.
