I read this blurb in Tom Taylor's email this morning. Does anyone know if this is this the same Tommy Frank who used to work at WRFY in 1992 as part of he Frank & Stein show prior to the Mike & Dave version?
Tommy Frank co-hosted his very first morning show Wednesday morning on Ithaca-market WFIZ (95.5) after the 10,000-song format launch – and died in his sleep that night from an apparent heart attack. He was just 42 and had been hired to be the PD and handle mornings. WFIZ general manager Frank Lischak tells the Radio-Info.com newspage that “in my 26 years in the business, I never saw anything like him. Tommy had a passion for radio…and he was excellent at what he did.” Tommy had worked in Detroit, Cincinnati, Syracuse and Bangor, before relocating to Ithaca for the launch of “Z95.5” WFIZ. Lischak says funeral arrangements, back in Tommy’s hometown of Bangor, are being worked on now.
