Tone Loc on Ben FM

E

Guest
Was driving this morning listening to Ben FM as they were playing Tone Loc
Funky cold Medina? I think that's what it was called..

I was on State Rd in Upper Darby where car stereo's are blasting all the time as they speed up and down. I turned my friend's car radio up real loud..
Some of the lyrics said..This is the eighties..and I'm with the ladies (something like that.)
I was trying to remember which station I was at when this was a hit and if Tone
Loc was still alive..LOL

Then I made a trip to a dollar store nearby and they had "Dollar Store radio" on.
Lots of good oldies music..maybe some philly station program directors should take note while shopping..

I liked their mix.. NO CHRISTMAS MUSIC YET..
I'll let you guys know when Dollar store radio switches to all Christmas music.

LOL

How can this be possible...

According to JerseyShor, BEN and all the other stations in Philadelphia are some sort of Rock!!!

Tone Loc was last seen alive and well playing a police detective in Ace Venture Pet Detective with Jim Carrey. If you listen to the beat & music of "Funky Cold Medina" you can hear that he sampled Van Halen's "Jamies Cryin". I guess BEN is backing up their "play anything" motto.

I don't think anyone will confuse Ben with a Rock Station as they are the Variety Hits format ya know this big thing JACK thats been sweeping North America. God forbid another hip hop artist gets air time. It's downright sinful. Ben plays a VARIETY of hits... some are rock, most are pop and every now and then an urban track crosses the line from strictly a rap song to being a legit pop hit. Now it may not happen much I dunno maybe three four ten times a week cause I know how fiercly unpopular rap and hip hop music is. I mean I don't know why they even play it the CDs dont sell... no one goes to these concerts it certainly wouldn't make ANY revenue.

Do you hate Tim McGraw cause he had the nerve to do a song with Nelly? Are Big N Rich too urban for ya? I mean they do have Cowboy Troy. And a midget... are midgets acceptable?

oh and as a PS how did that concert Y100Rocks.com promoted do?
Edited by SCRHack on 10/20/05 02:06 PM.

Totally forgot that one - thanks for the update!!!

Last year he was on WB's Superstar USA with Vitamin C and Brian McFayden. It was a fake American Idol where they told the worst singers that they were good.
