RIP George Michael, who did nights on WABC when I did nights on WPRO, in both stations' mid/late-70s Top 40 heyday.
Later, in the 80s, he-and-I crossed paths, in Washington, when he was MISTER Sports at NBC4 there, and seen here, hosting The Sports Machine.
But in the early 70s, guys-who-did-what-I-did in Triple-A markets like Providence would hear airchecks of him on the-late-great WFIL/Philadelphia, and execute our shows tighter-and-brighter as-a-result.
Later, when Cousin Brucie crossed the street to WNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNBC, George took over for him at night on WABC, and radio like this is what guys-like-me would try to emulate:
