Tonight's ION Primetime Lineup:

At 6 PM, it's the R-rated classic "GoodFellas," followed by back-to-back episodes of the TV-MA-rated series, "Durham County."

Gee, remember back in the day when Paxson preached a 'family friendly" TV network? I guess all those infomercials aren't quite helping you meet expectations!

Yes, and ABC Family (originally owned by Pat Robertson's organization) now produces their own original series called The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Basically, it's about the sex lives of a group of under 18 teens.

They still run The 700 Club, too, last time I checked.

Disney is required to air 'The 700 Club' and 'Living For Life' on ABC Family.

Pat Robertson arranged for this when he sold The Family Channel to Fox (which became Fox Family Channel). The '700 Club' requirement was passed to Disney after the network was sold by Fox.

And he also set it up so it would be impossible to cancel his shows -- if they wanted to "restart" the channel, they would have to completely shut it down and negotiate with each cable system.

Anc considering its programming these days, I believe they are also bound by contracy to keep the "Family" name as well.

And from what I can remember, it's an iron-clad contract. Until Pat Robertson heads for the pearly gates, "The 700 Club" will go hand in hand with "That '70's Show" and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" ;)

ABC Family now runs a disclaimer that The 700 Club is from an independent producer and ABC Family isn't responsible for its content. And once in a while they've been pre-empting the morning run. Of course later on this month will be another one all-day 700 Club Telethons "Geared towards bilking Grandma out of her Social Security Checks."

Meanwhile ABC Family has enjoyed considerable growth over the past few years.

And even if Pat does kick it, I think the contract would be in effect until Jesus ever returns to earth. Don't know if the contract says so, but knowing Pat, it could.

And, of course, "knowing ABC" too. Right?

Yes, I figured that. But it must really frost his a** that the network is straying a bit from what he would consider "family values."

"Family values" must also consist of running the "Death Wish" movies at dinnertime.

Dude, he's an adult, it's been years. I'm sure he's already come to terms with the fact that his organization sold their interest in the channel. I'm sure he's moved on.

Yeah, well...I don't really want to start another "Off the Air" controversy, but he's the 'adult' that described feminism as a socialist movement that makes women leave their husbands, kill their babies, and become lesbians. He's the 'adult' who said that if Americans accept homosexuality as a lifestyle, God would punish us with hurricanes, earthquakes and maybe even a meteor.

This 'adult' referred to Scotland as "a dark land full of homosexuals." ??? Why go on...the point is, there would have to be a considerable amount of cognitive dissonance in the brain of a guy that holds those views, but is somehow not disturbed by a TV program that appears on his former network a couple of hours before his own show that portrays underage teen girls having sex...and enjoying it.

I guess you could spend your time thinking of worse things than what [bad] thoughts [might] go on in Pat Robertson's head when he sees ABC Family's schedule. I'll give ya that.
