Hey Grand-pa…. What’s for supper tonight ?

“Hash sonny….. Good ole AM-IBOC HASH !”

Yum, yum!!!!!

Just need a little of that Good Ole Ibiquity spice it up a bit..... Hmmmm.... Tastes just like crow.

Not to disrespect any DXers, but what is there to hear on AM anyway? There are two good stations on AM in the US: KFI in Los Angeles and KSSK in Honolulu. That's it.

All right, I'm joking, somewhat. But it's been years since I tried DXing AM ... everything now is just bad talk and UFOs. AM has been dead for years.

So what IS there to hear on AM, DX or not?

Richard

I enjoy AM mate GREATLY!!!

I love 1520 (wwkb) i like 990 (wlgz),i like 800 (cklw),i like alot of stations!!

I love AM personally, not going to lie, I grew up with it the great Canadian rockers of the 80's and the fringe format stations that were also on the dial, I still would listen to the AM side of an AM/FM simulcast, when I lived in Iowa I often did that as the signal was better, even if it was a 500 watt AM compared to a 6000 watt FM, I still listen to some go0d stuff on AM, even today, and I'm lo0king forward to a new college station coming on this month at 1690 (still IBOC) free, at least at that end of the dial.

I love AM's past, but I truly haven't heard a great AM music station in years. They don't exist in Southern California. Haven't in Northern California since KFRC went under (back in 1986 ... not the crappy oldies version they ran a while). I wish it were different. You who DO have decent AM stations are lucky.

Just a note from the LA Radio site: according to KNX chief engineer Paul Sakrison only three AM stations in Los Angeles were broadcasting in HD the night of the 14th: KNX, KFWB and KABC.
