Tony Bruno

Not sure how it's doing so far on PEN, but I really think Tony Bruno's syndicated show is a great listen. I've only really started tuning in seriously for the last couple of weeks, and already it might be my favorite sports talk show, at least on Philadelphia airwaves (although I listen on the XM Radio SRN feed since PEN's signal still stinks in spots near me). Bruno being a Philly guy certainly devotes some attention to the Eagles and the Philly teams, but it's also refreshing to hear some good national sports talk, which can be interesting if it's done well, and Bruno and his co-host do it very well. Was funny hearing Bruno taking a shot at WIP, he was apparently in Philly over last weekend and was listening to WIP's "evening guy" and ridiculed him for doing a topic about what "Your 3 favorite TV shows are right now." Had to be Glen Macnow (that topic is right up his alley) and that is the exact type of topic that sickens me to listen to WIP sometimes. Such dumbed-down radio. And why WPEN can carve it's own niche. But they gotta get a local morning show. Please guys.<P ID="signature">______________

Couldn't agree more. WIP sounds so stale and reused versus WPEN's line up. As I said in an earlier post, Steve Zaban in the morning is great. The humour is inteligent and focused on national sports. Believe it or not, but they were even talking college basketball on PEN recently. Give the Philly sports fan a little more credit, while WIP spoon feeds their Eagles laden guy talk, WPEN is developing a nitch for fans of college basketball, baseball, football, college football etc. A healthy debate on the heisman has never been done on WIP.And based on the fact THAT PRO football season is over in Philly, WIP should be slightly concerned listeners may find other places to go. TO talk can only take you so far

I find myself tuning in more and more to PEN
I love Tony Bruno , my only complaint is Jody Mac needs a sidekick, sort of like Mike and the Mad Dog of FAN.
What I find hard to believe is how ANYONE finds Eskin entertaining he rehashes the same rants over and over again, If he is not defending the Eagles management he is ripping on the Phillies....Its old and stale Howard!
