Tony Kornheiser on 3WT

Does anyone know why Tony decided to stick to a local DC station for his radio show? I listen every day, and judging by the fan message board, his emails, and 3WT's ratings, it looks as if more than half of his audience is located outside DC and listens on podcasts from 3WT's website.

He is still under contract to 3WT's parent company Bonneville.
I believe he signed a 2 year contract back when 3WT was "Washington Post Radio" last year.

Like last year, he will leave the show in June to take a long vacation and then do Monday Night Football

Tony has long been a fixture on D.C. radio, having previously been on stations such as WTEM. Even back then, his show was (and still is) simulcast over XM Satellite Radio.

I don't mind the 3Wt show, but I really enjoyed the TK show on WTEM.
I thought he and Andy Polley worked very well together.

I had heard that TK leaving 3WT again for MNF has pissed off the Bonneville
suits to where his contract will not be renewed and TK might be looking for
a new radio home come next January.

If that is the case, will he be welcomed back to Sportstalk 980? Or, will he
land at yet another DC radio outlet? WJFK maybe?

JFK is a good possibility. Or, maybe XM will try to reel him in for exclusive ownership. They would have to make him available online somehow.

According to a blurb on DCRTV.com yesterday, Tony will return to 3WT next year.

Yeah, he confirmed that earlier through commercials where he said "I'll be back next year..."

Big changes at 980 recently, Do you really thing he will be back?? I doubt it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah. Steve Czaban lost his flagship station, and he don't sound none too happy bout it.

from Q&A on 3WT site: "7) What about Tony Kornheiser?
Tony Kornheiser is currently not on the radio; he will be doing Monday Night football this fall and will not return to our radio stations after this. "
