Thats a great question. Thinking back to those days, before Dick Bartley was PD of 'BBM-FM, there was a PD by the name of Bob Johnson. Where is he these days?

Actually, his name was Bob Johnston and he had a very pleasant
airstyle. I still have a handful of `BBM-FM surveys from 1973
and the Nov. 17, 1973 edition has the lineup for the entire
airstaff. See how many of these you remember?: Bob Orlando,
5:30-10am, Bob Johnston 10AM-NOON, Jim Cloney N.-4PM,
Alan Burns, 4-8PM, and Tony Phillips, 8PM-MID.

Here`s another memory maker: FM 96 NEW MUSIC (LP`s)
DAVID BOWIE - Pin-Ups - RCA
DAVID GATES - First - Elektra
LINDA RONSTADT - Don`t Cry Now - Asylum
NEW RIDERS - Adventures of Panama Red - Columbia
G.O`SULLIVAN - I`m A Writer, Not A Fighter - Mam
QUEEN - Queen - Elektra
JACKSON BROWNE - For Everyman - Asylum
HEARTSFIELD - Heartsfield - Mercury
BAND - Moondog Matinee - Capitol
ROSS AND GAYE - Diana and Marvin - Motown

Tony did mornings for the old WLAK (Lake) in the early 80s,
staying with them through the flip from EZ to Soft AC as
"Love Songs". 94FM WLAK, The Lake. He was let go before
1986 or so. That station later flipped to Lite FM as WLIT
around 1988.

IIRC at the time, Tony had just become eligible for Viacom profit sharing *right* when he got fired--and a lot of people thought that that was the *only* reason he got fired.
