Tony Snow gone :(

LOL, um, why did you have Sirius in the first place? It's ashame when people let partisan politics get in the way of everything else. There's a few people like that on SiriusBackstage as well. They are so ticked that Sirius isn't going to carry FoxNews that, despite the fact they were hardcore Sirius fans before this, they are going to switch to XM.

I didn't drop Sirius when they dropped Air America. I found Sirius had a lot of other programming I still enjoyed. If you never enjoyed Sirius's programming, why didn't you just get XM in the first place?

On the one hand, I agree with your reply. But ...

Most music channels on Sirius have an equivalent on XM and vice versa. It's the specialty, spoken-language programming that separates the two, IMHO.

If you listened to Sirius for their adult rock channels and Fox News and Talk, maybe it does make sense to switch to XM. Because on XM, you'll still have several adult rock channels and Fox.

I am not letting partisan politics get in the way of this decision. One of the main reasons I got satellite radio in the 1st place was to listen to FNC in the car. I am usually driving home at 7pm and want to listen to the Fox Report while driving home. I have an XM and gave that to my wife and got a Siruis (over 2 years ago) I saw both had FNC, both had Tony Snow, both had Sean Hannity, Sirius had NFL. I thought I'd get one of each. Now, my wife won't take the Sirius in her car b/c she likes to listen to Fox & Friends in the morning on her drive to work. I listen to Presron & Steve on WMMR so, I don't even listen to satellite on the drive in (by the way, they beat Stern in his last trend in Philly! www.prestonandsteve.com www.wmmr.com The king of all media was beat in his 2nd market!
The music, I can listen to the Pulse or XM Mix, Alt Nation or XM ethel or lucy.

I guess I will miss the WBCN Patriots broadcast for those few times I'm not home to watch it on the Sunday Ticket and it was nice to listen to Radio Margaritaville not on a computer.

Trust me, the vast majority of those saying it won't actually be going anywhere. Watch the handles of the people making that claim who then return a few weeks later to make comments about something they heard on Sirius.

Only the tiniest minority of people are actually going to cancel a 120+ channel pay radio service over the lack of Fox News. The rest are just rattling their swords.

Personally, I wouldn't cancel my SIRI sub and go with XM (I have both.. XM's
NAVtraffic rocks, and I don't listen to FNC) because of them dropping FNC.
Though I do know of 2 people that I work with who will be switching from Siri
to XM when FNC goes away.

Ask them a question an XM subscriber would know and see if they answer correctly... I'll bet they won't actually drop it, especially if it's in their car.

I certainly wouldn't agree with that. Granted, they may both have similar type formats, but the way they are programmed is miles apart. Many XM channels are extremely deep and play tons of unknown artists and are very hard to listen to IMHO. Take those adult rock stations for example ("XM Cafe", "the Loft", "Here Music", etc.). These are all really deep and play tons of obscure stuff that many don't care for. XM has no comparison to Sirius channels like "the Spectrum", "the Bridge", and "First Wave". All of XM's comparable channels are much more obscure and very hard to listen to. Not, nitpicking, but while they may technically be the same type of format; the way they are programmed is much different than their Sirius counterparts. I certainly prefer Sirius's more structured, "hit based", if you will, programming style for music.

Both of the people I was referring to have head unit siri's, so
swapping them out wouldn't be a big deal. If they had cars with
siri integrated, they probably wouldn't cancel.

Either way, I agree there wont be a lot of people switching...

Presron?

Trend or monthly or book (Philly ratings are taken monthly, right?)

In what demo?

Not that it matters anymore...
