Too Bad CBS Radio Can't...

Take a look at their CT properties and see exactly WHAT they are doing RIGHT! I mean WRCH pulling in a double-digit share and their other FM's not that far behind. Market #1 is surely is dire need of repair to say the very least! And before ANYONE says that CT is a completely different market, I KNOW but success and a successful formula can be applied to ANY station in ANY location. I say take the WRCH formula and apply it to "JACK" and go head to head with "Lite-FM" even though I am apparently one of a select few that actually DO enjoy "JACK." Like others have said, the "JACK" concept MAY see some better numbers with a turn towards the "Lighter Side" of the music spectrum. Chances are that won't happen based on WHO is managing the CBS Radio Ship.

Just my $5 worth....

Thoughts?

I know CT "aint" NYC but alot of people here in Southwestern CT listen to many NYC stations including myself. Many of us like the same music/programming that takes place in NYC. So why don't you get a clue yourself and don't assume everyone in CT is different than people in NYC... "man."

And just like RadioX said... Know what your talking about before you type something on here.... TOOOOL!!

hey why dont you both calm down:

A. It's a message board where virtually everyone talks out of their arse

B. Agree or disagree but Frish is correct. NYC is it's own unique animal unlike anywhere else, Connecticut included. The moment anyone tries to mimic something done somewhere else in New York they usually lose.

Dont be so think skinned by the way, if you're arrogant enough to suggest that market number one programmers mimic Ct radio which contains everything from top 30 to low 100's markets within the state, you should not be surprised when someone spanks you verbally dont take it personally.

Cheers mate.

"Notorious" for WHAT???

It's April Fools...I guess the FOOLS are OUT in Force!

Actually "Mate" I will try not to be so "Think Skinned" (whatever the hell that means) but just to reaffirm my original point I was referring to a model of "success" and nothing more. Afterall it IS CBS Radio and for them to actually be doing "well" in a market it would be interesting to see why. NEVER at ANY point did I imply that CT and NYC are the same or EVEN similar. Go back and RE-READ.

Have another shot of DumbA$$.

Good Day Sir!

PS- I think you meant "Thick Skinned" perhaps!???????

Hey what are you barking at him for? I responded to your initial post and if you go back and re read what YOU wrote the first line of it is:

Take a look at their CT properties and see exactly WHAT they are doing RIGHT! I mean WRCH pulling in a double-digit share and their other FM's not that far behind. Market #1 is surely is dire need of repair

The next line acknmowledges that Ct is a different market but the obvious meaning that one draws from your post is that NY should take a look at Ct and essentially fix it based on what they have achieved in CT,. Anyway you look at it you over reacted pretty hugely and I agree learn to not be so thin skinned. Its a message board, that is all.

Figures. A thread that starts out regarding Jack degenerates to name calling.
The CT station might be kicking butt in the ratings but to the brain trust at CBS, it's a flea on the butt of it's NYC properties.
