took the HD plunge

With the passing of Oldies format in the area, I thought I would take the plunge and get an HD radio in hopes of getting the 93.1-2 HD signal for their Oldies format. Pretty neat.

Only bummer is that here in High Point, I can't get any of the WFDD HD signals. Am in an office environment and antenna has to be very low - so that may have something to do with it. 94.5 HD signal not making it here either but I didn't expect it to. The 98.7-2 HD programming is good as well (some drop outs here though).

I am not in the radio biz. Help me understand the business model behind something like Oldies 93.1-2. No commercials. How is that programming sustainable?

Got the Sony XDR-F1HD by the way.

thanks
