Took the plunge...

[am-fm]

Bought the Receptor HD - only thing thats pissing me off is the radio really is deaf without a good antenna (and then still it only goes HD on a few stations - WMGK and WAWZ are the ONLY ones I can get in HD - WSNI and WJJZ just flash "HD)" and never go in to HD mode. WOR I couldnt get either.

But I will say that it does sound fantastic on WMGK and WAWZ - much better than XM. And even in analog mode, the system does sound pretty good. But if I cant get HD stations without using a J-pole antenna, I think that this radio will be a flop...<P ID="signature">______________

Looks like they brought this thing to market too early. Needs more development. I had a similar problem with the 1st generation of HDTV converters. Using a big yagi antenna with amplifier and rotator, I have trouble with the Local HDTV stations except 1 PBS. I even have trouble getting my one local HD. I have a gen 5 box now and it works well. Can get HDTV from over 100 miles away now. So hopefully, they will clear up some of the first generations problems. I hope they havent muddied the waters so bad that nobody will buy them.

I was getting B101 on the analog, but CBS-FM (1 & 2) in HD! LOL<P ID="signature">______________

I found a spot where I can make that happen on WBOS in Boston, I get Star92.9 from Burlington Vt analog and WBOS HD when it "blends"

The Good Lord Willing, I should be in Philly in a couple of weeks.

Who in Philly is currently running HD-2 channels? (and HD-3, if applicable?)

Someone told me 96.5 had their Dance HD-2 off, is this still true?

Also, last time I was up there in the fall, 96.5 was simulcasting WWDB on their HD-3, and WXTU had a loop of prerecorded sample audio on their HD-3...What, if anything, is running on HD-3s up there now??

Also, has Greater Media or CBS turned any of their HD-2s on?? Last I checked a few days ago someone told me not yet.

I witnesed that myself Thursday while passing thru, same thing happenned to 100.3.
