Ever striving to have a more compact and capable loadout for my EDC bag and vehicle, I am interested to hear what tools or tool modifications have proven useful for reducing weight/space/frustration for site maintenance... Forgive me if there is already a thread, didn't find it. Perhaps a sticky would be useful?
I'll start with a couple of my favorites so far:
Kershaw SelectFire - Sturdy enough for most tasks, onboard bit storage and better reach than most multitools in tight holes.
Y-tip Torch - Use this with MAPP to put plenty of heat onto the widest of straps, makes silver solder a cinch even in breezy conditions.
[SUP]$[/SUP]40 for a good selection of drivers and small wrenches. Glued a 2mm magnet on the mallet handle to make it double as a pickup tool.
Two light sources in one package, groovy.
For the Truck:
Small Shopvac for filters and cabinets
Inverter, saves your day if you roll onto a site with bad power
Dual-mode inflator - pushes enough air to help knock stubborn dust out of transmitters without blasting it into an arc zone.
With the variety of cordless tools out now, it is incredible easy to have everything running on the same batteries; Drill, Sawzall, Weedwhacker, etc. can be tossed into your toolbox without any additional logistic worry for power source
