Top 10 dance U.S. friendly stations streaming on the internet

Greetings,

I am doing an underground newspaper article based in Florida and wanting to write a column about the top 10 dance stations in the United States that are streaming over the internet. The publication is free and gets around 15,000 in circulation every month. It is not a big paper by any means but the majority of the readers are clubbers with an influence of the gay community.

I have been searching for weeks for stations (Terrestrial or i net only) that have a solid following and great sound. In the article I am going to list and write about each station and the ranking will be in no particular order. That will be determined by our readers in a few weeks.

I do not care about web page looks or the amount of fans they have on their Facebook. I am looking to promote hidden gems. So far on my list I am going to write a nice article about these stations (I find them perfect for what I am want to write about about) - These are in no particular order. I think they are all fantastic.

Fusion Radio in Chicago, IL
Energy 98
Electric FM Radio
Music One

I was thinking about including Di.fm radio but they do not have a particular station that I feel fits this article. No disrespect to them but I am looking for quality hits stations.

Another one that I found is a station called Party 95. I think it is based in Orlando. It is not hit oriented but to Floridians it is.

Can you guys recommend some other ones?

thank you very much for your help and recommendations.

I normally dont self promote or try and beg for listeners,, however,, lately ive had a significant drop in the amount of listeners my stream is receiving. It plays both Underground and Mainstream Dance music,, I dont focus on any particular chart, i just play what moves me,, And im sure it would move other people as well,, but they need to know it exists.. Like I said I dont have a website but here is my link Its call Mystery Radio.. As far as why that name,, i couldnt think of a good name, and its a long story.. Use Winamp or Itunes to listen http://174.142.103.66:8180/listen.pls Thats the shoutcast stream.. and http://173.236.59.82:21280/listen.pls thats our icecast stream..

I think what you are doing is a great idea to promote these smaller stations,,, If you would consider mine,, this could be the break im looking for...

I would definitely include di.fm as it is one of the most successful radio portals in the world. They've been webcasting for a long time.

Party 93.1 out of Miami.

Since everyone else is promoting their stations, I might as well promote mine too... lol

Surge Radio at www.surgeradio.org - Southern California's Digital Radio!

We focus primarily on Dance Hits & Top 40 Remixes but we also include stuff that was popular from the 70s-Today as well as Underground Electronica, Hardcore, Hardstyle, Trance, House, Drum & Bass, Jungle, Industrial, Dubstep, Chill, and just great partying music! Professionally automated (not just one big random shuffle mode), actually carefully balanced.

Professionally imaged by Mitch Craig as well as Yegor Vedoff from Ukraine and Handy Andy from KGRG 89.9 in Seattle, we also use IQ Beats for some added imaging flavor. Some of our imaging was inspired by the old Vibe 94.5 before Mike O and Tic Tak took over, but not to the point where we sound like we're copying them. We did recreate their old TOH ID though ;)

Stationality Media (the company that designed the old Vibe 94.5 site at vibevegas.com) is rebuilding our website, it should be up and running within the next few weeks.

I strongly suggest not including Z88.9 or Electric FM in any top 10. Might as well consider KTU as a top 10 if you did that.

Alright, this should be short and simple.. ;D

Here at www.party732.com we deliver the best dance music to you from the Jersey Shore. What makes this station a little different is that we cater to our nightlife, our clubs, our scene. Not only we play the hits from the charts, we also break out exclusive remixes either created or spun by mixshow DJ's who also spin in nightclubs, bars, or any venue within the Monmouth and Ocean counties of New Jersey. We already have a mixshow in tact this Friday within our 1.5 months on air after the switch from 96.7 Party, and is getting a Saturday night mixshow geared up where we broadcast live from the hotspots of the Jersey Shore featuring guest DJ's at the moment. As DJ Whammy said in his post, we also use Mitch Craig as our voiceover, but use Jeffrey Hutchens as our imaging production guy.

thanx a lot for the cool stations. I really think this is going to be a cool thing.

Besides di fm radio what are the really big ones out there? (usa only please)

thank you for the suggestions.

Non-comms can make money. Its called underwriting

Nice... But I'm not the one you have to convince that non-comms can make money. ;)
