Top 10 One-Hit Wonders

No, no, no.... A-Ha is NOT a one hit wonder. They had another song from the same debut album. That song was "The Sun Always Shines On TV". And according to Billboard, MTV's heavy airplay of the video for "Take On Me" is what made that song a hit in the U.S. Had it not been for that, the song probably would have bombed here, too.

"The Sun Always Shines on TV" was a very minor hit (#20 on the Hot 100). How often do you hear it on mainstream AC/Hot AC/Modern AC stations? Using that logic then Exile isn't a one-hit wonder, either, because the follow-up to "Kiss You All Over," "You Thrill Me" peaked at #40.

Where's Taco? :D

Generally speaking, music industry folks in the U.S. consider anything within the Top 40 chart to be a hit. A true definition of one hit wonder, is an artist / group that only had one song on the Top 40 charts. Thus far, A-Ha would be considered a two hit wonder.

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are fun to remenisce over. :) I doubt much of today's new music will be rememberable to anyone, after a few years. Sad how the music in dustry has fallen into the cookie cutter approach...

I'm just curious, where are all these music videos coming from? Are there any music video DVD's on the market now? There's some I would love to have in my collection!

The two I posted have been You Tube for a long time, as I'm sure all the other ones are. As far as actually have them, say on your hard drive to keep, I can't say.
