Top 40 102 WPIX-FM in the 1970's

Since 101.9 changed formats again, I thought I would like to ask you radio fans about this. What were the more precise dates of WPIX-FM when they were a Top 40 station. Were they really that Adult Top 40? Didn't WPIX-FM have a wider playlist than WABC. This was the station that first aired American Top 40 with Casey Kasem back around 1971. From what I had read, Neil McIntyre was not only the PD over at WPIX-FM in their Top 40 days but also a great guy to work with. So I read in that famous FM book. Is Neil McIntyre still alive or has he passed away?

Fill me all this information about 102 WPIX-FM in their Top 40 days in the 1970's. Thank you all radio fans for your cooperation.

Remember hearing "American Top 40" with host Casey Kasem over WPIX 102 counting down the most popular hits of the
USA from the 1970's? By the way, reruns of Casey's AT 40 can now be heard on XM Satelite Radio XM7 Ch the 70's on 7. :)
