WOW!! That sounds really cool! Where on earth are you gonna get the 45s? I'd like to do that, but I'm thinking CDs would be easier to find and less hassle to maintain. Anyway, best of luck with your project. Sounds like fun. You're one lucky guy!

I do have some old KILT 40 Star surveys from the late 70s, but the eras that Chuck gave you are probably better suited for your wishes. We were playing a lot of disco and stuff then. Might I also recommend this book by Joel Whitburn:

You can sometimes find this at Borders or Barnes & Noble. Used to be no radio station control room was without "The Bible" . Or if you really wanna go nuts get his Hot 100 book. A true argument settler if ever there was one. I think you have to go to his website to get it though:

Ahhh... if only the late Bill Campbell were still alive... He would have all the old 45s and then some. I still have a box of them, but they're from the 70s-80s... and most are cue burned. (wow, there's term you don't hear any more.... In fact, that might make a nice thread in itself... Radio Terminology You Don't Hear Anymore!)
Many thanks to each of you for the help and comments. I have some of the old .45's in good shape and I have been able to get a goodly number from ebay and garage sales. They aren't all perfect, but I am finding enough good ones to be able to fill the box. Actually, the .45's box is not a done deal. My wife agrees with the Colonel about getting a CD box instead since I would be able to have many more titles available, and I am beginning to lean that way. I am converting my garage into a library/study with a pool table. I have a ledge at the inside end that is perfect for juke box with a 39-42" HDTV suspended from the ceiling above it to create a fun center, and an alcove big enough to hold a recliner and small end table as a reading center. Now all I have to is retire and enjoy....Someday!
