Top 40 on 40...Looking a Lot Like XM's 20 On 20

Can you say "KITS" This is what they did when they launched in SF. Top 40 over and over. It's great if you want to hear the 'hits', but how much influence do the labels have on this channel? Kind of like everyones Top 8 at 8 or 9 at 9. Most are just made up to try to shape listener tastes.
