Top 40 stations not doing so well

Well, just out of curiousity, I went on Arbitron and collected a list of stations that aren't doing too well. I won't post ratings per station since that is against site rules. I will just say these have at or below a "mediocre" rating. I skipped most small markets.

WKKF in Albany.
WSTR and WWWQ in ATL.
WSSX in Charleston.
WWKL in Harrisburg.
WRDZ in Indianapolis.
WHYL in Miami.
WIOQ in Philedelphia.
KXXM in San Antonio.
KBKS in Seattle.

And in the first time in at least 50 decades KZZP wouldn't land in here.

Y-100 Miami is actually doing pretty well. The new PD is doing a good job of turning this heritage CHR around. I think a lot of people in South FL are giving Z-100's morning show a chance on Y (including former Howard Stern listeners as has been the case in NYC), and the new programming lineup that includes daily top 20 countdowns three times a day.

Oh yeah, as far as Q-100 Atlanta goes, the Bert show pulls in some good demos in the morning. The station's signal, while based close to downtown, is still not as good as that of Star 94. Star in general has really fallen on some hard times compared to their once huge ratings. I couldn't be happier as Star for a long time has been one of the most overly conservative CHRs in the country.
Another weakness as far as Q goes is that it's now owned by Cumulus and as a result the station doesnt sound as strong as it could be.
KZZP 104.7 Kiss FM Phoenix has several things going for it - it's very focused on its market, and longtime Rhythmic outlet Power 92 was forced to move to the weaker 98.3 signal recently in one of the dumbest transactions of 2006.
I wouldn't really list WRDZ Indi as that's just a Radio Disney outlet that happens to have an FM signal (compared to an AM signal in most markets).

I don't know about anyone else, but I love the sound of the station, at least recently. You can really compare its playlist to the Billboard Hot 100. They very rarely favor songs, except Elliott Yamin's "Wait for You", but I can see why people like it, because it sounds just like Brian McKnight's "Anytime". And the station is becoming less and less Rhythmic-leaning as time goes on and actually gelling with what their audience likes.

If only they could get a decent morning show.....

WAIT FOR YOU is more like the Mario Vazquez "Gallery" of 2007....not quite at the level of Brian McKnight's "Anytime" imo.
I agree. Not even remotely close.
