Top 40

One of the radio conglomerates in Orlando should change their format to a music format such as Sunny's with a much wider playlist and then the programming and jocks should be just like they were during that era, inclding all the PAMS jingles.. With all the interest in airchecks it seems logical for a station such as Sunny to step out of the canned programming box. FM radio sucks here just like it does everywhere else. Back in the 60's and 70's Top 40 radio ruled every market with huge numbers. The jocks were entergetic with great on air voices, not like Top 40 of today with all the Hip-Hop crap. It couldn't hurt stations like Sunny who cannot pull any impressive numbers. I will stick to the AM dial until someone can come up with a better format on FM.

I totally agree. I miss the days when you could turn on "Y-106" or "BJ-105" and hear a total mix of rock, pop, and soul. It is all just audio-porn now, absolute garbage...

Don't even get me started on the jocks......

Ah, those were the days. Having worked at both Heritage/Legendary CHR's back in the day, I agree wholeheartedly. We were never asked to cut our breaks, read liners, but were always encouraged to be energetic, upbeat, topical, air good phoners, bits, etc.... Our PD's probably air checked us more often but I found the sessions both helpful and instructive. Not overly critical or destructive. Nowadays I just do my thing on a Heritage AC station up the road. Same concept, great PD, hands off, just doing my thang.......

Tanner,I like it...It seems YOUNGER LISTENERS are more "open" to what is now called "retro",so prevailing wisdom of OLDIES appealing to too old a "demo",might not apply anymore...I think there would be a lot of interest from listeners and advertisers.

;D I hear this on all the boards..Retro Rack and Roll..Top 40 Blah blah ..I'm all for it, so why has no one DONE IT! One station, I know has done it and they are very successful.. Check out WNMB-AM--They are on the internet streaming from North Myrtle beach, SC...BIG APE!

I think some of the major market TV stations should go back to broadcasting in black and white, and emulate all of the old cornball tv shows they used to air.... it would totally work.
